    • Extracts from a letter received from Laura Lee Eyes McCrory in 1986:

“I lived at Aunt Eva’s the year before your parents were married and the wear that Jeanne was born. They too stayed with her while Don substituted as station agent in Linton for a fe~ months while the agent had a vacation. Fred had an old Model T without a top and when I was an 8th grader and Florence was home we went ~lacas in the Ford. I could drive and Florence could crank the engine. France and Hans [Hanson] lived at the East Ranch’ and Wallace and Albert (Hanson] were little ones. We drove out there often. Do not recall anyone else ever taking a chance with us but we had a creat time! Crazy! I loved Don and Florence like family not cousins. Aunt Eva was a second mother to me. Sorfa’ grew up a Petr~e as well as a Eyes! All Aunt Eva’s children were special to me --having no liing brother or sister I seemed to take all cousins as mine.”
